I have to confess that I have barely had time for DS, I tape it and then neglect to watch. (The Leviathan story line contributes to this, it is my least fav.)
But, I have DO have a good excuse. I am getting married! I have found the person that I was born to be with. We have been friends for several years and growing ever closer all that time. We just have so much in common that it is uncanny. He is a dedicated Christian and my respect for him has grown and grown as I've watched him over time. A love of horror films and the supernatural was one of the first things we discovered, so we always discussed that. He loves books even more than I do, though horror and theology are probably the only genres we share an interest in reading. When we began seeing each other away from church, we found out we had much more, such as both being artists (I don't do it currently, he has stayed with it much better than I) and enjoying writing.
Anyway, I have heard of a few great loves and read about them, but I never really thought it could happen to me. Or, at 47 years old, I had just given up on the thought years ago. He treats me so well, my kids like him and he is good with them, he even understands better than most my mentally ill son. I have never been so happy in my entire life. Just wanted to share that with my friends here. I know several of you have great marriages and that has always inspired me that it CAN be done.

I had wondered where you have been. Many blessings and best wishes. I have two mentally challenged children and if you find anyone who can help you cope, you are truly blessed with an angel. He sounds like a keeper.

since DS is on at 8 am i find myself missing it also!
i forget to tape but i have most of this on tape
and know i can watch it whenever i want too!
agree life is busy and we started T ball yesterday
watch out grady little and red sox i might just take over that team yet!also my son hit a whopper yesterday(the future!)
i think managing 5 year olds might be easier than so called
adult athletes though!

I really do believe a long and happy marriage is perhaps the greatest single blessing possible. The sorrows are easier, the joys more profound, when you you can share them with the right companion. My husband and I have known one another for 26 years and been married for 20 (yes, being good friends first and getting to know one another IS excellent!!).
Congratulations and Best Wishes, Kuanyin....I've missed your posts, but I can't think of a better reason to be "too busy". :D

Congratulations, Kuanyin! You landed a winner (and obviously used some very good bait)! It's really marvelous that he's devoted to your special son. Now, we all expect to be invited to the wedding. After all, you can never have enough identical toaster-ovens all wrapped up real pretty on the gifts table (so you can cash trade them in afterwards and get something you really want!).

Kuanyin stopped by the store I work at yesterday and gave me the fantastic news in person...and if ever there was a glowing person...it was her! It's been a long time since I've seen ANYONE that happy! And I am soooo happy for her! I think I hugged her a bizillion times! While I don't think that her wedding will count amongst the new, smaller DS gatherings, I have offered my services as puppy-sitter while she goes on Honeymoon!

It sounds like you went about this the right way -- beginning as friends and getting to know the other person slowly over time ... rather old-fashioned in a (good) Jane Austen-ish sort of way!
