British actor Simon Ward, most recently seen in The Tudors, has died at age 70 after a long illness.
He played Arthur Holmwood in Dan Curtis' Dracula (1973), and co-starred with Jean Simmons ('91 Liz Stoddard) in the 1979 ghost story Dominique.
He also co-starred with Peter Cushing & Veronica Carlson in Hammer Films' Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969).

This is sad news. Though I remember him much more from '70s films like Young Winston and The Three Musketeers and its sequel The Four Musketeers: Milady's Revenge than I do from anything he did with DC. He also appeared in one of my favorite adaptations of Wuthering Heights.

Besides the Musketeers films, I also remember him as Zor-El, Kara's father, in Supergirl.
