				Hmm...
Well, I was rummaging around and came upon this picture I took of Carol and Karlen one night.  I don't remember the circumstances too clearly.  We were all pretty loaded.

My, my, my! What a surprise to wake up to! Yes, I'm another year older(54) and deeper in debt(kid in college) but I have my love to keep me warm--just which one is it? My hubby or JK?  Thank you Midnight, Ghost of Sarah Collins, Prof Stokes, Bette, Cassandra, Josette, Annie and Minja for your best wishes. They are very much appreciated.
As for Connie--I should've known you'd pull a stunt like this! Thanx, sweetie. Send me an email once in awhile so I know what's happening in Jersey.

I won't be celebrating my birthday till the weekend because we're doing a combo celebration--my hubby's 60th, my birthday and our 28th anniversary all rolled into one. Then it will be party time!

				Happy Birthday Carol!!!
Evidently, this time of year is a popular one for birthdays of New York State Dark Shadows fans!
I know you live upstate, so this time, I'll climb to the top of the George Washington Bridge and wave hello to you from up there.  (I'll even wear my official Morgan Collins parachute, just in case some stealthy and determined Dark Shadows fan creeps up on me while I'm saluting you from the Jersey side of the Hudson River.)
Bob the Bartender, who just loves the view that the top of the GW Bridge affords you of the Cloisters, Grant's Tomb and that little shack called Lyndhurst just up the river!

For someone who's afraid of heights, Bob's doing a lot of climbing lately.

Good idea, 'cause I'm inching my way up behind you.  :o

Hey!  Somewhere near the Cloisters/Fort Tryon Park, my initials (CLM back in 1971) are carved in a tree along with my high school chemistry teacher's!  (At least he SAID he did it)
Come to think of it, he's one of the reasons I lost interest in DS back in '69/'70.  (My attentions drifted elsewhere)  ROFL

Thanx Birdie for your bday hopes but husband said I was way over my limit for spoiling due to recent eye problems.  He said I was trying to wring every ounce out of him! Poor guy--just wait until HE gets sick.
Thanx Bob the Bartender-- I see you waving! Can you see me? [wave] I think our highest buildings are our Twin Towers(NYS office buildings) Watch out for that Connie who is coming up your~  What I wanted to write would probably be deleted but you get the idea.
I remember crossing the Tappan Zee Bridge many a time when I went to nursing school in Westchester Co.  Good old Grasslands Nursing School attached to Grasslands Hospital which turned into Westchester Co Medical Center. Saw stuff there that I never saw again due to treatment changes.
Great education and great experience. Sorry I rambled.
Want a laugh? My husband received a notice from County Executive congratulating him on his 60th bday and informing him of the Senior Citizen services available like meals-on-wheels, bus service, and a whole array of discounts. It promptly went into the garbage. That was NOT a bday greeting to him.

Hey!  That's great.  Meals-on-wheels.  Maybe you won't have to cook dinner anymore!

Who bets Carol's husband has been getting mail from AARP for years now.

I'm not a great cook even after 28 years so I think Meals-on-wheels may be a step up. I know that when my mother had to use them, she was pleased with the service and the meals.

Yes, we do get the magazine and I read it as well.

I feel the same way but hubby isn't about to start attending half price dinners at the Town Hall for Seniors or going on bus trips with a "bunch of old folks!". On the other hand, I'd be the first one in line.

Thanx VictoriaWinters. The big celebration is on Saturday!

Oh, Carol, my mother would never go on those trips or the lunch thing but was first in line to flash the senior discount at any store we went too.  We know every stores senior days.  My day was 51 when my younger sister was born.  He won for having the youngerst child at his high school reunion.  He will be gone l4 years on Saturday and I still miss him.  I have wonderful memories.  We have kept him alive for my younger two who never got to know him.
My mother is 75 and still won't go on the senior trips or go to senoir llunches.

We won't be going on them either. This young filly tries to keep the old man lively by going to trendy restaurants and taking day trips on our own. He stopped going to school functions with our daughter when too many people asked him if he was here to see his granddaughter perform.  I don't know why they would ask that because the parents were a mix from mid to late 30 year olds all the way up to folks in their 50's and beyond with kids in the same class. One of my daughter's HS friends has parents who are on their 3rd spouse and they are younger than us.
