She has earphones on, and you hear a short section of it while Angelique is talking to her.
Does anybody know what this song is?

Hmm,well, I think 1972 is too early for "The Bitch is back ..." *rolls eyes*
You might have to wait till the home video release and then try listening with headphones to catch this.

There's only one line remotely audible - some rocker guy singing "she's like a hungry tiger." The whole thing plays for no more than ten seconds, half of which is garbled or under dialogue. [ghost_wacko]

Would this be the song? Although, if it is, I don't think it was recorded until 1975 or after, which would make it a historical whoopsie.

period specificity in the film was not always the name of the game...
when it came to music, and hippies, and disco balls, and hairdos, and go-go dancers in cages and so forth the film was a bit of a pastiche of late 1960's early 1970's popular culture.

The vocals in the film are a bit more melodic than your typical Lemmy and Co., so I don't think so. [ghost_wink] The tune is in the ballpark, but still different. This one is a real stumper!

What a hoot, Patti! Maybe Carolyn's earphones actually aired the future. Now wouldn't that've been another interesting twist in the film? She is the one who will eventually rebuild her family's fortune because she'll bet everything they have left on Mark Spitz winning the Olympics.

It's definitely NOT the Motorhead song.

I could have sworn that the second time I saw the film I recognized the song, but for the life of me I can't remember what it is. [ghost_embarrassed] And at the rate things are going with my schedule, if no one else figures it out beforehand, I may not figure it out again until after the DVD/Blu-ray release because I don't know if I'm going to be able to fit in another chance to see the film. Had no clue what the song was. In 1972, I was definitely a Carpenters kind of guy.

See:
Anyone figured out the song Carolyn is listening to on her headphones in DS 2012
