Now, I'm not being DS-centric here, but Patrick had a significant film career and more than deserved to be included tonight.
Appalling.
-
i did notice in IMdb that dennis patrick mostly had a television career but you are quite correct in that he should have had a snap in the memorial film as a former member of the academy.
-
I'm not exactly surprised, but agreed, it is a sad omission.
-
I guess legal couldn't clear those DEAR DEAD DELILAH clips... ;)
But seriously, just doing the well-regarded JOE and being such a recognizable player should have been enough...
-
You think? I mean, it's got more of a cult film reputation these days, plus most of his career seems to have been television based.
-
Hello all thats too bad Dennis
Patrick is such a wonderful actor and should
be remembered. Love Anne :- :)

I don't remember them having so many technical people in previous years. . .i thought it a bit odd. . .they had great directors and stuff. .but all these editors, etc. I think they deserve greater credit, yes but it stood out this year.

I was sort of half watching the oscars at that point but I got the impression that all of the people they showed had won an oscar? They didn't show Jonathan Harris either... Who knows what they were thinking?
-
i dont think MILTON BEARLE won an oscar. he was included in the tribute and he was known as MR. TELEVISION!
-
JOE was also nominated for a best screenplay oscar at the time, so the movie shouldn't be completely off their radar.
-
There were a lot of people that they didn't show in the In Memoriam section. I remember they even showed Mary Jane Croft (from the Lucy Show) in this section of the Oscars a few years ago.

This years Oscars were a joke,altogether..from everything I've heard anyway..I didn't even watch them [aprvb]
