As a member in good standing in TLATKLSAS, just print the closeup of her from the montage  [lick] , and get a few good hits off the gas bag, and everything will be OK!

Good luck, and sweet (young thing) dreams![8371],

Thanks, everyone!  I'm going to spend the entire weekend afterwards enjoying my codeine euphoria hallucinating about KLS (in whatever character) nursing me back to health by feeding me chicken soup and reading me dread-time stories.

Gerard,

Wishing you smooth sailing and a rapid recovery.
May your back problems be behind you from here on.  (Jeez, that was bad).

Codeine....YES!  Love it.  (It's my drug of choice)  [thumb]

Gerard,

A pharmacology-induced "sensuous reverie" about KLS.  As SNL's John Lovitz would say: "Yeah, that's the ticket!"

Bob the Bartender, who, will only be imbibing Coors Cutter, non-alcoholic beer, this pre-St. Patty's Day weekend.  (Yeah, right!)

Best Wishes tomorrow on your surgery Gerard! I'll send some positive good vibes your way!![wave]  [sun]

And don't settle for anything less!! Take your Morphine,[sleep]
(do they still use that?)

Glad to hear you're both feeling better Carol and Annie! [thumb]

I want to wish you the very best of lucky in your surgery, Gerard.  I had back surgery myself nearly 30 years ago.  I bet they use anesthesia, sterile instruments and everything now!   :D

Praying for you, thinking about you--take that painkiller and zone out, buddy!

Love, Robin

Oh yes.  As an IV drip, even.  Of the opioids... morphine is 10 x more potent than codeine (I'm talking mg for mg).  Then there's oxycodone (in Percocet and Vicodin, woo hoo) which is about 1 1/2 x the potency of morphine.  Hydromorphone, i.e. Dilaudid, is 5 x more potent than morphine.  I'll stop there, Gerard, cuz we're getting into la la land territory. ;)

Gerard,
I hope all this talk about pain didn't make you nervous so I will pray that your pain is slight and your recovery swift.  However, I think keeping your mind on KLS fantasies will speed your recovery. ;D

Dear Gerard,

Hope that you are resting and recovering rapidly from your surgery!  Will be sending good vibrations your way! [peace]

And I'm in agreement with those who recommend holding out for the hard stuff - it really will help you to rest, and you'll be back up and around before you know it!
[sun]

Wishing you happy TLATKLS fantasies!

Love,

Cassandra Blair

Thanks, everyone, for all your well-wishes!  I've spent the past week in a codeine haze, having wonderful hallucinations of TLATLKS nursing me back to health, but the surgery went picture-perfect (but I won't describe it - even for gothic lovers like us it might be too gothic) last Friday the 14th.  I've still got five more weeks of total healing (which means no gym - eek!), but that will give me time to catch up on a week's worth of missed posts.  But I didn't miss one, single episode of DS - thank goodness for the VCR!

Very glad to hear your surgery went so well, Gerard!  Now just keep doing what you're supposed to and get well quickly!

Codeine for a week?  I'd be in the Psych Ward.  Codeine is WAY up there on my "Never-Take-This-Stuff-Again!" list   [crazd]

Be Well....

Gerard,
I hope you are back to yourself again very soon.  Beware of too much codeine.  My brother had a broken leg and took codeine for too long and ended up needing hemorrhoid surgery.  What a pain in the a**.  Sorry, I couldn't resist.  Hope you feel better soon.

So glad to read that you are on the mend! [clap] I'm sure TLATKLS was a superb nurse, too!
Codiene does nothing for me but that Versed anesthesia was sure nice!

Hi, Gerard:

So good to hear things have gone well for you.  If the pain doesn't go away, just remember to call Julia, if only to hear her utter (ever so nonchalantly) my favorite line, "Here, this will relax you."  :)

Gerard,

Hooray!!! Glad to hear that the surgery went well, that you're feeling better, and that you were able to keep up with Dark Shadows even in the midst of a narcotic haze.

My question is this - did the show make more or less sense in your drug-addled condition?   ::)

Love,

Cassandra Blair (who found the show scared her silly while on demerol after wisdom tooth extraction last fall)  [scrdy]

Codeine made it so much more enjoyable, Cassandra!  The only thing I couldn't figure out is why Luke and Laura kept showing up - I don't remember seeing them in any of the other initial viewings.  But then I don't recall that purple-colored tiger wearing lederhosen that kept serving me tea made out of sunbeams and stardust being in my house, either.
