Title: was she wearing pants?
Post by: Julia99 on February 21, 2003, 04:45:21 PM: yesterday just before King Johnny made his appearance. .Magda was wandering around the trashed Drawing Room. She picked up her skirt. .i swear it looks like Grayson had on a pair of pants. . .it didn't look like a long slip.. . what time of year was this filmed, was she cold? That skirt looks pretty substantial/warm to me. . ?? J99 Queen of the Grayson obscure observation . ..

IIRC this was filmed around the same time Woodstock was being held in upstate NY, so this would have been August of '69. Maybe it was cold that summer. :-

oh damn! caught with **my pants** down . ..i lost count so long ago. . .I'd luv to see a video at the DSFest of Magda gettin' tossed, pulled, slapped with the song. . .by the Impressions. ."I love my gypsy woman . ."" or something like that!

Didn't women wear pantaloons under their skirts back then? Not only would it be a form of modesty(covering the legs when lifting the skirt but to protect against itchy, scratchy material? Just a guess. Wasn't Scarlett O'Hara in her bedroom with a camisole and ruffled pantaloons before she was dressed for the picnic?

Funny how words stay with a person. Back in college English, read a short story by author whose name I can't remember (or even content of the story) but the title stays with me.."Pantaloons in Black".
