Title: Practical magic
Post by: Midnite on February 21, 2003, 01:27:12 AM
Now that we've seen the Count's magickal cabinet (snort), I thought I'd throw a question out.  We've seen lots of items on DS that are imbued with special powers-- for divination, spying, travel, and otherworldly communication, also for gaining power, control, immortality, protection, knowledge, etc... and pretty much everything but a magic carpet.  So, what one magical item from DS would you most like to possess, and why?

SPOILER...
I'd choose the linen closet that at times is a nursery.  I'd turn it into a guest room that's only there when friends are visiting. :)

I'd want the hand of Count Petofi. Cause it can do just about anything. I'd have it increase the font size on the current talk board.

Dom (expecting to be smited any moment now ;)) LOL.

So, now that I've given Dom what he was begging for, let's get back on topic. ;)

I think I'd like to have Quentin I's stairway through time. It might be fun to travel backward and forward in time - even if I didn't know which or where I was going.

I'd like to have Barnabas'  pink fireplace that's in his livingroom.

Then people around here would sit up and take notice :-*

Hmm . . . since I've spent the past couple of days on the couch under a fleece throw fighting off a nasty cold, I'm mighty partial to the afghan whose wondrous healing powers we will soon witness.  ;)

The Good Professor's Stash, of course.  All natural. Replenishable. Portable. Fat free.

Haven't seen anything in the NY papers, Ringo, unless it was a tiny blip and I missed it.

Poor Dom!

Hath Steven been free'd?

Oh yes.  He was in custody overnite only cuz he was busted late and had to wait til the a.m. for arraignment.  He was charged only with pot possession (a misdemeanor) and the judge adjourned his case for a year, which means if he stays out of trouble for that long his record will be expunged.  I might be mistaken, but it seemed there were no Dell commercials for a couple of days. :D

Well, you know, Karma is a funny thing. Often just by putting an idea out there, it can happen to/for you. So, you should always be very careful about what you let loose into the universe.  ;D

Now, if I were you, I'd go stand in front of my mirror and practice saying "Coz they aint worth notifying ." ;)

He's apt to have longer lasting consequences for filming some of those Dell spots during a Screen Actors Guild strike.

Dude! You're getting blacklisted.  ;D

Careful, I may just stand in front Nicholas Blair's mirror!

Oops...I did it again! :-[

You can run, but you can never hide...

Hey, I'd love to have one of those magical portraits like Quentin!  You'd never age!

I go along with MB here. I'd want Quentin's stairway through time. I'd go back and get
the winning lottery numbers. How much more
practical can that be? [ideay]

I would like to get my hands on Maggie's magic emerald earrings. Not to wear, you understand. I'm lusting after their monetary value at the moment.

Imagine--being able to shut up those lovely people at Sallie Mae!

8)I'd really love to have the " I Ching" (?) wands. The possibilities here are endless!!

I want Nicholas' magic mirror. I'd be able to see anyone in the entire world. What fun!

I wouldn't want the I-Ching wands - too unpredictable. You never know what hexagram you're gonna get. The staircase through time is unreliable as well. It disappears, it reappears in another place, it's rarely there when you need it to be.

The disappearing linen closet room could be dangerous. What if it disappears while you're in there? Where do you go? Do you turn into a towel?

The parallel time room is intriguing and probably my second choice, but it's unpredictable and unreliable as well.

I think I'll go with this one, too.  Time travel seems too unpredictable( just look at how much Barnabas has screwed everything up) ::).
