I was in the library the other day and came across a book entitled Our Vampires, Ourselves. LOL!!
Has anyone seen it? Needless to say, I looked in the index and sure enough -- Dark Shadows. There were a couple of pages on Barnabas. I skimmed it quickly and the author referred to him as a psychopath, I believe. I don't think I'd go THAT far! (I do have a tendency to be sympathetic towards certain vampires and werewolves though).
I wonder if there are any similar type books. Like...Our Werewolves, Ourselves, or maybe My Favorite Werewolves, or maybe My Favorite Quentin, or maybe My Werewolf, Myself....
Oh shut up, Connie. (okay) [sssh]
Anyway, remember the book, Our Bodies, Ourselves ?? I bought it in the early '70s. Good book.
love

There is a rather popular text for adults wishing to learn grammar basics called The Transitive Vampire: A Handbook of Grammar for the Innocent, the Eager, and the Doomed.
All of the sample sentences are about vampires and the like.
I've stolen the thematic approach to teaching grammar from this book, though I use Elvis in all my sample sentences. Hence, my students learn to avoid misplacing modifiers from the following example:
Sitting on the toilet, Elvis' girlfriend found him dead.
Sick? Yes, but they sure as heck remember it.

Actually, according to some reports, El's girlfriend was indeed sitting on the toilet when she found the King, dethroned.
aaah, thankya, thankyavermuch...

It comes as news to most of my students that he died in the throne room anyway, so none have quibbled over that point yet.
