Necessary Sacrifices, starring David Selby as Abraham Lincoln, will premiere at Ford's Theatre on Friday, January 20. The play runs through February 12, with several pre- and post-performance events planned. Those are outlined in a recent media release from Ford's Theatre:

In addition, those living in the Martinsburg, West Virginia area have an opportunity to travel by bus to see the play on Saturday, February 4. The trip is being arranged through Blue Ridge Community and Technical College. More information here:

Ford's Theatre announced this evening that David Emerson Toney (Frederick Douglass) has had to withdraw from the production due to a health matter. They plan to recast the role, but performances scheduled for January 20-25 have been canceled. For more information, including the ticket refund/exchange policy, please see the link below:

I love the reviewer's description of Selby. What a shame that the production has suffered a bit from the cast change. Hope all the fans attending the play have a great time.
