Hi Everyone,
When do YOU watch your Dark Shadows?
I used to tape it and watch it all at night, but now with the new time slot, I watch 1/2 in the am before work & 1/2 at night. It's turned out to be "not so bad".

Currently, I watch it when I get home, which is usually around 4:00 PM.
-
I tape it while I'm driving to work and then watch it in the evening when I'm doing kitchen clean-up after supper.
-
I tape it and watch it in the evening usually. Even when I was home during the day, I would do this, though I would often watch it in the afternoon.
I find when I try to watch it without taping it, I miss too much. The phone rings, or something distracts me and then I can't back up the tape. Plus, cutting the commercials is quite the time saver.
-
Since it's on at 6AM in Arizona I could watch it while I'm getting ready for work but I still watch it when I get home because it's faster (speeding through commercials). Also, few things are more relaxing after a stressful day at work for me than to put on the tape first thing after I get home.

[hello][hello] A large DITTO to Murph. I do the same thing even if I am at home when it is broadcast. When I am working, I like to relax and enjoy around 4:30 when I get home from school.

It depends . . . now that it's on in the AM, I may watch it then and there, but generally I save it up on a tape and watch it when I've got the time to do the column (which explains why I get so vitriolic ;))
-
It is usually on in the morning taping. I tend to watch in the evening,my down time.

Usually the tape gets put on once I finally get to sit down for dinner and the boys are just about done eating. LAFB starts making faces 'cause she doesn't want to watch Sponge Bob Square Pants. She orders them out of the room so we can watch in peace.
(And concentrate on Sponge-Bob Barnabas and Quentin Square-Pants.) LOL

Always at night! Since both my parents like watching the show (they don't get the Sci-Fi station) what I do is tape it and then I'll watch it with them in the evening. I feel it's much more relaxing this way.

My viewing times keep changing. When I was in high school, I'd tape all the shows for the week and watch them on the weekend in five-hour sittings while I did my homework. Last year when I started college, I used to watch the taped show first thing when I came home each afternoon. During the recent semester, until the timeslot changed, I would usually be able to watch the first episode 'live' before leaving for class, then finish watching the taped episode when I came home. Now, I will probably be able to watch both episodes before class in the morning since fastforwarding through commercials on the tape is a big help. :)

I normally watch the show while riding my exercise bike. I ride anywhere from 40-65 minutes a day, and watching a couple episodes while I do so makes the time seem to pass more quickly. Bob

Every now and then, I'll watch the first ep when I return home from work in the evening. But usually I watch Dark Shadows in bed around 10pm. It's like having a spooky bedtime story every night, and it certainly makes for some interesting dreams. ;)

i tape it and watch it at different times durning the week..i've seen it so many times now i sometimes just watch my favorites and skip the ones i don't like as much!

That is cool! [are the P's first gen fans???] When I was home for Xmas, I turned my Dad on to Game show network's B&W overnite showings of 'To Tell the Truth', 'What's my line' and 'I've got a secret' - and now we have crazy phone calls about Bennett Cerf and Fred Allen - and Polly Bergen! [you can imagine what a nut case my Dad is!] I remember watching those with my parents and laughing our a$$e$ off on Sunday nites!
With my self-oblique slash-un employed status, sometimes I have meetings in the morning with 'clients' [I do graphic work - and magazine covers ;) - for some companies]. So sometimes I watch 'live' and sometimes late afternoon, and sometimes in the evening [sounds like a Steve Martin routine!] I will sometimes get a day or two behind, and try not to read relevant posts till I ketchup, but this is and B&WON are about the only TV I really set my watch for. - oh, and the 70's show [surprized they haven't even mentioned DS, but it is set a bit later...... but Stokes could join them in the circle!] And any old re-run with a DS alum [like TLATKLS in Matlock....]
What other shows do you all watch?

Ringo, I tend to watch Will and Grace and Frasier. I love Karen on W&G. She makes the show for me. Can you imagine her running around Collinwood? Hey she would fit right in with the Brandy-Sherry club. She treats her servents as good as the Barnster.

Ringo, I watch West Wing, The Guardian, The Soprano's, Judging Amy and anything on the House and Garden channel, regularly.
Feel free to deduce from that that I am a liberal, bleeding heart, Sicilian-American mother who is constantly rearranging the furniture.

To answer Ringo's question....
Current shows......Buffy, Angel and The Sopranos, sometimes Arliss...
Reruns.....Dark Shadows, Buffy, Jeff's Collie, Laugh In, The Avengers (Emma Peel eps only!)
And have seen the first Harry Potter movie over and over and over.....as well as Best In Show.

Always, Minja ;)

Ringo, I'm a huge fan of 'Buffy.' I like 'Angel' too. I try never to miss 'the Daily Show,' am addicted to reruns of 'Absolutely Fabulous,' and find myself drawn to 'Trading Spaces' and 'Changing Rooms' the way other people are drawn to car wrecks. Also really like 'Jonathan Creek,' and other BBC America shows. Am wild about 'the X-Files,' and consider David Duchovny to be the cat's pyjamas!
In addition to being a TV junkie, I've also got this thing for film, books and writing my own stories. I don't sleep much. [lghy]

Ringo, yes! They love the show! Actually I think they're really getting to enjoy it more now since back then they both were working and only got to watch the show on holidays (the good ole non pre-empted days)
Dad is 81 years old now and my Mom isn't too far behind and they both love it like a couple of star struck teenagers!
When the show was pre-empted for three weeks during the holidays, my Dad was more upset than I was!
They live in our downstairs apartment so the first thing my Father says to me as Im walking in the door is "Where's the tape?"
I'll probably still be watching when Im in my 80's too. lol!

I tend to watch TLC's Trading Spaces ( when Doug & Ty are on ;-) ) and I like some of the shows on the History Channel, Discover and Travel. On a regular basis I try to catch Will & Grace, Friends, Buffy but this season I have been kind of lax on watching but I just bought a really nice wide screen television so maybe that will get me back in sync.

I usually watch during the day, but sometimes late
at night after everyone's in bed.

I watch at night and sometimes watch tapes/DVDs of different storylines on weekend mornings when I have time. :-)
Wanna watch HODS and NODS again soon.
-
As soon as I get home from school, I pour a glass of wine, get a plate of cheese and crackers, turn off the phone, settle into the Lazy-boy and watch DS. If this doesn't happen for some reason, I'm not a happy camper.

Usually in the evening. I'm a taper, but on rare occasions I will watch it when it airs (7:00 a.m. by me). There are times when I get behind and sometimes watch three days worth at one time, or over the weekend.

Sorry that I haven't been on here too often. My adopted mother passed away in December from a long illness of Lung Cancer. So I've been busy as you can all imagine with clearing up some legal stuff. Things are coming along and I'm doing much better now.
I don't get to watch it anymore. Here in the western Washington area DS is on at 5am in the morning! :'(
I haven't watched it for months now. I've gotten weaned from it to a certain extent. :(
Now that we have DSL, I've gotten addicted to it and being online a lot more then I should be. LOL
I miss everyone here though. I do come online and check out what I'm missing. ;)
We did manage to get a DVD player for Christmas. Maybe I'll break down and by DS DVD's with some of our income tax money. ;)
Hope this finds everyone well.

I gave up watching them on Sci-fi, so I just wait for The DVD Box sets, so at least i can get excited about watching them when they come into the mail.
