Title: Episode #0099
Post by: CTP/FITBs on November 19, 2011, 09:51:02 PM
[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Since The Flying Nun was also an ABC show, I can picture DC trying to convince the executives that it would be a great cross promotion and that the network should foot the bill.

[pointing-up]  And I can picture them laughing in his face.  [b003]  Though imagine if he tried it after Barnabas had come on board and he'd become the sort of antihero - though for that to work Barnabas would have had to be a vampire so that Sister Bertrille and Barnabas' bat self could team up to fly around to defeat the baddies. They threw everything else into Leviathans, so why not that as well?  [snow_wink] [snow_rolleyes] [snow_laugh]

Then there would have been great conflict, with Barnabas wanting to bite her but not being able to because Sister Bertrille was basically a walking, flying religious icon. The potential romantic tension would have rivaled that in Change of the Habit, where Sister Mary Tyler Moore must choose between her religious calling and Elvis.

 [pointing-up]  Such a lost opportunity. Alas...  [snow_sad]

(And speaking of Change of Habit, I've never seen it, but I'd like to. Not because of the main stars (though I like Mary Tyler Moore) but because of Jane Elliot, whose various soap work I've loved for years. It would be a hoot and a half to see her as a nun!)

Mary's future costar Edward Asner is also in the cast, though he and Mary share no scenes together. BTW, Jane Elliot is the last surviving major cast member.
