Title: It figures...
Post by: Patti Feinberg on December 20, 2002, 11:55:04 PM
So, a few weeks ago, I got basic digital cable. Whoop de do, doesn't come with cinemax/hbo.

The cable dude didn't hook up my vcr to the thing??
so...even though it's been
three weeks

I didn't get to tape ds :'( :'(

I did watch it 'live' today; good eps.

One
spoiler question

Have I missed Laura?

I taped up until the recent hiatus ::), so I'd have it on tape.

Did y'all hear Magda today???

She said it....

PETOFI!

No DS until?? Anybody?

Merry Christmas

Love,

Patti

Our cable company went digital about a year ago or so. BIG RIP-OFF! First of all, I needed a decoder box to get HBO (the only premium channel I pay for) and I didn't need one before. That's an extra $8 a month right there. So I had to pay extra just to keep what I already had! Plus the dumb box "resets" itself all the time and goes off on its own. Pain in the you-know-what. And unless you have HDTV or a really big screen you can't tell any difference in the picture quality. Of course, the cable rates continue to go up. What a racket.

Thanks for the words of warning, Jennifer and Dr. Lang.

I remember when I was having so many reception problems a couple of years ago and they said that "everything would be digital" in a year (well, it was two or three years), and I would just have to wait it out.  They didn't mention that "digital" would be a higher cost option.

My picture quality still isn't as good as I'd like, but at this point I'm not able to consider shelling out even more $$$ for digital.

Not to mention that all my DS tapes I've taped in EP -- so when my VCR goes, I may not even be able to play them.  I've tried them on my parent's TV and sometimes they "flicker" (like our old black-and-white set used to do back in the late 1960s!!)

I also hate digital cable two months ago they called came out to change our two boxes for new features in the NY(which i won't want) the guy screwed it up and we could not use that tv for two days so they could fix it !they brought back the old boxes and when i got my bill they charged me for that extra box that i never used(it has been two months of a 11.99 extra when i called they stated they were charging me an extra box they would
change the bill they did drop it but didn't take off the extra charges and charged me 1.99 for making a change
well tommorrow they are going to hear from me i think
that the cable industry is EVIL!!!!
thanks for lettin me rant!

Actually, it will be coming back on January 2nd. Times vary depending on time zones. It will be on two hours before the current time.

I hope they don't drop the show now that I've gotten involved with the supernatural storyline. Caleb the vampire is back!!
For a short time after my laser surgery on Friday, I saw everything in red and thought to myself (I couldn't say anything to anyone because my husband would've been embarassed), "So this is what vampires see." DS is in my life all the time!
