Post by: CTP/FITBs on October 10, 2011, 11:33:27 PM
[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

When I first read the Ross books back in 1968/69, I had no knowledge of the show's earlier history. So I fully expected Ernest and his nutcase wife Elaine to show up, which of course they never did. However fictitious Ernest may have been, he treated Vicki better than Jeff Clark ever did.

[pointing-up]  This is very true. And he certainly treated Vicki better than Anthony George's Burke did! That version of Burke may have been an accurate reflection of his time and in keeping with how some men treated women, but even as a male I have to say that no man should ever treat a woman like a child, which is what his version of Burke did way too often. And the thing is, say what you will about Mitch Ryan's Burke, but he never acted that way. If that was going to be the way Burke was going to continue to act with women, it's a blessing he was written out...
