If I remember correctly, Julia99 determined the year of birth to be 1922, so Grayson Hall would have been 89 today.  Maybe in some parallel time band she's a grand old lady.  And still with red hair?

I "rediscovered" Dark Shadows around 1989 when it was re-released in VHS.  This was a Bittersweet Experience for me because it was also at this time that I learned of Grayson's Passing.  Happy Birthday Grayson and thanks for all the Wonderful and Memorable Moments on Dark Shadows.  You are Sorely Missed.

Plan on watching some of her best scenes this weekend - with a piece of birthday cake, naturally.  Happy Birthday, Grayson, wherever you are. Thanks for the memories.

Happy Birthday, dearest Heart.

Grayson always makes me think of the "Ode" by Arthur O'Shaughnessy which famously begins:  "We are the music-makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams," but tonight I think of the final verse whose lines read:

We, in the ages lying
     In the buried past of the earth,
     Built Nineveh with our sighing,
     And Babel itself with our mirth;
     And o'erthrew them with prophesying
     To the old of the new world's worth;
     For each age is a dream that is dying,
     Or one that is coming to birth.

Something that pleased me a month or so ago was discovering on the IMDB board for Grayson that some fan in the UK who is watching DS on DVD (I would guess?) criticized her acting on the series.  Very quickly several fans posted their personal experience that Grayon's art is one of the treasures of DS, and her personality brings so much of the magic that we love in our show.

To this rare dreamer of dreams, I bow, and salute you!  Grayson, you were truly unforgettable.
