Title: David Selby in On the Waterfront
Post by: MsCriseyde on December 04, 2002, 04:56:49 AM
David Selby will appearing in the L.A. Theatre Works audio theatre production of On the Waterfront on December 11, 12, 13 at 8:00pm and December 15 at 4:00pm and 7:30pm at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

For those unfamiliar with L.A. Theatre Works, they record radio dramas in front of a live audience for eventual broadcast on NPR. Some titles are also available on audio cassette and compact disc.

There's a link to purchase tickets to On the Waterfront on my David Selby site.

Oh My God! "On The Waterfront " is the best (according to me) ever made. Elia Kazan, Marlon Brando, and lets face it, at that time, he was beautiful, and Eva Marie Saint.

Now David (Quentin) Selby is going to be in the play? Which part is he going to play?  I know...check out your site.  I going to.  It's just that is is my favorite movie.  And David Selby is going to be in it.  Wow. That's great.

I'm pretty sure he won't be playing Edie Doyle. [lghy]

The cast for this production was announced at the last minute, so none of the press releases circulated recently mention David's (or anyone else's) name.

I will have to check with my source and get back to you about the role.

The answer to the burning question is that he will be playing Father Vincent, a character that did not appear in the original film but is included in this adaptation.

I should add that the adaptation was done by the original writer of the screenplay, and he'll be doing a Q&A after one of the shows.

There's an article about the upcoming LATW production of On the Waterfront from Playbill Online. I've added a link to my Selby site.

The article doesn't mention David by name. (What the hell were they thinking? [lghy])
