In the interest of keeping us entertained and in the 1897 spirit while the show is on hiatus, I thought I'd create some polls pertaining to what we've witnessed so far in the Sci-Fi aired 1897 storyline.
The 1897 Favorite Moment polls will be open until December, 8th. The top 2 choices from each poll will be combined to make one final poll (to be posted to the Dark Shadows Forums December, 9th) to determine the Dark Shadows Forums members favorite moment from the aired 1897 episodes.
All Dark Shadows Forums 1897 polls final results will be posted to the Forums December, 14th.
For those of us in need of a refresher course, posted below are the corresponding Robservations to each choice.

What a great idea Dom!!![thumb]
I picked the scene in which Quentin greets Laura as my favorite. Quentin doesn't seem like the type of person who is shocked too easily, but the look on his face in this one was priceless!![wow]

It sure is okay, Cassandra. In fact, I encourage and welcome it! It makes the polls all the more fun and interesting, IMHO.

Angelique meeting Barnabas in the tower room, still trying to win his love, sitting on the bed behind him, pressing her head against him.
We see these two in many different situations during DS' almost five-year run, but rarely is there more honesty, poignancy and discussion of past, present and future between them than in this scene.
Barnabas and Angelique made the series crackle anytime they were together.

Robin convinced me. I pick B & A meet in the tower room.

I had to go with Carl meeting Barney, BUT, you certainly made the decision difficult! Great moments all....

[hello][hello] I voted before I read Cassandara's post. I believe that moment with Quentin and Laura was one of the highlights of 1897. There were so many great moments! Loved the conversation between Carl and Barnabus also!

Count me in for Cassandra's vote as well!!!

I went with Barnabas meeting Angelique, but it was a very hard poll. So many good scenes have occured in the last 39 episodes. I was torn between Carl introducing himself to Barnabas and a few other scenes.
-
I voted for the scene in which Grandmama receives Barnabas, but the scene where Carl meets Barnabas was a close second.
-
What a hard choice! I was torn between Carl Meets Barnabas and Barnabas Confronts Angelique, but in the end, I went with Collinwood's resident fibber. [jester]

All along I was assuming I'd go with Barnabas and Angelique in the Tower Room - it's certainly a wonderful confrontation. However, when it came down to it, I went with Barnabas meeting Grandmama.
That seems a bit more to the actual point of the story. And, from the time we meet these people, all we hear about is the "secret" and she has to live long enough to tell Edward and can't tell anyone else. Everyone assumes it has to do with money, and then Barnabas walks in and she says, "You're the secret!" It's priceless!! And then, the whole follow-up with Edward coming just at that moment, but then she's unable to stay lucid long enough to tell him.
-
I voted for Barnabas meeting Grandmama - liked the scene when she saw him in the light and said you are the family secret ... and then she died - saving Barnabas the task of how to handle the situation.

Have to go with Barnabas and Angelique in the tower room...it's just a classic scene between the two of them, further illustrating their relationship's dysfunctional dynamic.
He needs her, fears her, can't stand her, and can't stay away from her; while she figures if she stalks him long enough and threatens whoever he's currently envisioning as Josette he'll eventually have to give in.
It's just a core Dark Shadows moment...makes me laugh, cringe and want more.

I was going to pick when Laura greets Quentin but after reading Robin's post I decided this was the one for me. I love how she put it and it made the scene between these two more intense than how I originally interpeted it. Just when Barnabas thought he was rid of Angelique forever, once again, she proved him wrong. Good scene!
