Title: I can't access the Dark Shadows Yahoo! groups

I was trying to access http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scifi-darkshadows and a "DULL DNS ERROR" appears instead. I can't access the website.

Might it have said "Null DNS Entry"? If so, it could have been because of something as innocuous as a hiccup on Yahoo's server to something far more severe, like that URL no longer exists.

A DNS Entry is the number address of the site you're trying to access. For instance, the DNS Entry for dsboards is 195.224.187.51, but it's much easier to access the forum using www.dsboards.com. Every time we try to access an URL, what actually happens is that the www.site.extention name gets looked up in a table to associate it with the actual number address.

Null, as I'm sure we all remember from high school Algebra ;), refers to something that's empty (like a null set). So, a Null DNS Entry would be one without a value - meaning that when the table gets searched there's either no matching number, or when the number gets contacted, there's no corresponding server associated with it.
