Just announced: TV legend and uber-All My Children fan Carol Burnett will return as Verla Grubbs, a role she first played on AMC in 1983. Verla is the daughter of the late Langley (the late Louis Edmonds). She appeared with Louis on his final AMC episode in 1995.
Burnett's airdates have yet to be announced, but a posting at www.SoapCentral.com says she'll appear for a few episodes right before the end.
No doubt Langley will be mentioned one last time--maybe even a clip of dear Louis? (a guy can dream, can't he?)
