[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

His Liberace impression
-
(Speaking of Liberace - and going way OT - but this past weekend I watched an ep of The Monkees that mostly took place in a museum, and one of the things that happened at the museum was that Liberace performed. And you might think they would have had him play some music while people looked on adoringly. Well, people dressed to the nines in jewels and furs did indeed look on adoringly, but he didn't play music. Instead he did a performance art piece in which he came into the room with a oblong case, he opened the case to reveal a solid gold sledgehammer, and then he proceeded to smash a piano to bits. I don't know why but I just laughed and laughed like it was the funniest thing I had ever seen. [stfl] I guess I was just in the right mood for it.)

When I went to see The Marvelous Wonderettes, I wondered if any of the twenty somethings in the cast had any idea of who the Liberace that they were singing about in Please Mr. Sandman actually was.

(An excellent question!! [b003])

(Liberace doing his version of Pete Townshend or Hendrix? I think it's a better act than Gallagher's melon smashing...)

([pointing-up] Too true!! It really was hysterically funny to watch!! [stfl])
