[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Fill in the blanks: Melanie - "Kendrick, please - I didn't tell you that ________ because I was afraid you would ________!!"
-
I have an identical twin cousin
Think that we're one pair of matching bookends different as night and day
-
[pointing-up] Actually, it's too bad NB never got the chance to play twins on DS. I know she would have knocked it out of the park!! [thumb]
(And I love The Patty Duke Show! And little did Robert Costello know what was in his future when he produced it.)
-
Nancy definitely would have knocked it out of the park and then some. Maybe after Chris/Tom and Angelique/Alexis, they didn't want to redo an earlier storyline. Nah, it couldn't have been that.😉😉😉
-
([pointing-up] No, it definitely couldn't have been that. And not just with DS because all soaps love to recycle!!)
-
Indeed. What's a soap without an evil twin or three lurking around?
-
I kill a LOT of people .... feel inadequate because I have a skill that you don't have

(Exactly! Both Julianne Moore and Ellen Wheeler ('91 Series' Phyllis Wick) won Emmys playing twins...)

I remember when OLTL introduced an evil twin for Pat Ashley which was apparently an attempt to get a daytime Emmy nomination for Jacqueline Courtney. Instead of showing off her range as an actress, it ended up showing that she was a limited actress. And the story was brought to a quick end.

Thanks MB!

(It's funny, I was watching OLTL then and I liked Jacqueline Courtney, but I have no memory whatsoever of her playing twins. I guess it really was as forgettable as you make it sound...)

The twin story took place in 1979. Ellen Holly, who was probably not the most diplomatic cast member of OLTL, said that the only way that you could separate the two characters was when Courtney had the dark wig on. It also didn't help that Courtney had been involved in another recent story on OLTL where she was held captive for an extended period. That was the producer of her talk show, View on Llanview.
