[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

[nodno]
Fill in the blank: Kendrick - "Oh, and, Miss Collins - don't even think of trying to persuade Melanie ________ so that she won't marry me!!"
-
That I have major cooties
-
[pointing-up] The worst possible thing Kendrick could have!! [toothy10] [toothy9] [toothy10] [toothy9] [toothy10] [thumb]
-
He'd be a pariah for sure!!
-
([pointing-up] Absolutely!! [b003])
-
When Cooties Attack!
-
([pointing-up] If they hadn't thought of using Angelique's ghost for the second film, that would have been the perfect choice!! [nodassent])
-
It could still easily turn up on the SyFy Network
-
([pointing-up] Sad but all too true!! [ghost_rolleyes])
-
It might even rival Sharknado.
-
([pointing-up] Given the lunacy of the Sharknado movies, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised!! [ghost_cheesy] [ghost_rolleyes])
-
With a potential crossover and a book deal for you know who. [ghost_wink] [ghost_wink] [ghost_wink]
-
([pointing-up] Oh god! But I can see it!! [ghost_cheesy])
-
No potential opportunity wasted!!!
-
No potential opportunity wasted!!!
(Never!! [ghost_grin])
-
I'm sure that if the opportunity had presented itself, she would have collected said cooties and auctioned them off in a future memorabilia auction.
-
([pointing-up] There's no doubt of that!! [ghost_nowink])
-
She may still claim to have done so. There's fewer and fewer people who could call her out on it.
-
([pointing-up] So true...)
-
Those Scrapbook Memories are subject to interpretation.
-
([pointing-up] You'd better believe that!! [ghost_wacko])

Another fan told me that Roger Davis confronted KLS about some of the stuff that she wrote about him; probably the Maggie's diary section of the movie book. She didn't deny writing it, not that she could. But she did tell him that she didn't think that it was that bad.
Maybe she was less than discreet about sharing her experiences with Roger, maybe she wasn't. But I really have a difficult time picturing him as the wounded party, as his reputation does precede him. KLS is hardly the first one to have issues of with Roger but she was probably the first to put it in print.

(Exactly! Plus let's not forget what a terrible reputation he had during the late-'80s/early-'90s because of his less than stellar behavior at the Fests. Thank heavens he eventually cleaned up his act.)
-
Were you there when he was encouraging fans to call Don Briscoe? He didn't give out the phone number, though he might as well have. He announced that the phone was listed under Cecil Briscoe in Memphis.
-
([pointing-up] I think I may have missed that one. But I was there the year that he apparently berated a volunteer to the point that she was in tears. [ghost_angry])
-
This didn't happen to me but several fans have said that he refused to sign their program books unless they bought one of the tshirts he was selling.
-
([pointing-up] I've heard reports of that. [ghost_rolleyes]
I didn't even want his autograph but I have it. And that's because at the 1989 Fest, which he wasn't even announced as attending, he went down the autograph line handing out a signed insert page for the program book. [ghost_blink] Funny how he could give it away free that year whether someone wanted it or not...)
-
There was an incident of sorts in the dealers room one year. Roger saw some pictures of himself that he wanted on one of the tables and expected to get them for free. The dealer refused. They got into quite an argument that stopped just before Roger could take a swing at him.
I don't think that either of them behaved like adults. Roger came across as entitled and demanding. But the dealer (Parker Riggs, who was a fixture at the early festivals) was not the most honest person either. The photos in question were bootleg copies of Ben Martin's work. The incident blew over quickly enough but it was no one's finest hour.
-
([pointing-up] Why does none of that surprise me? [ghost_nowink])
-
Yeah, sometimes the activity in the dealers room was more interesting than whatever was happening onstage.
-
([pointing-up] That's for sure!! [ghost_wacko])

Then there was the lady with a huge strawberry birthmark that covered half of her face. She was wearing an I Love Tug McGraw shirt and kept asking if anyone had seen her cat. I'm assuming that she was a DS fan because I can't imagine the crack festival security force letting someone just wander through.
-
Thanks for sharing those hilarious anecdotes Rog! [clap] I've said before, you need to be writing your memoirs down to share with the rest of the world.
-
Thanks, RQ!! I've really just skimmed the surface. There are other DS stories that I'm sure that I will get to in due time. As well as some non DS ones that are equally bizarre, if not more so. 😉😉😉

Another incident I missed. [ghost_sad] [ghost_wink] [ghost_cheesy]
As for the security staff, we're all suppose to wear our badges, but probably half the time I didn't (though I had it with me) and I was never once approached by security for not wearing it. In fact, it was my observation that many attendees didn't always wear their badges...
-
I know of one fan who just kept using the same badge year after year. He never bought another one. But he didn't exactly keep it a secret either.
-
([pointing-up] Whoa - that's nervy!!
At my first two Fests I always had my badge on because I rarely left to do anything but eat. But as I attended more and more Fests it was a case that I would have my badge on in the morning at the start of the day's events - but if there was going to be an extended period of events that I wasn't all that interested in, I would often go into NYC to do other things. And when I came back I rarely put the badge back on...)
-
I usually wore mine for most of the weekend. I was always wary of losing it, because I had heard too many stories about fans losing their badges and the lovely Ann Wilson would charge them another weekend fee to get a replacement.
