Hello, Since I had SO MUCH time the past couple days (without any Dark Shadows to watch), I was thinking, (like a lot of you), how cool would it be to have a Dark Shadows Chain Reaction on SciFi - but not just of HODS and NODS, but of any scarey or scifi movie that any DS star was in. Wouldn't it be fun to see them all in different roles?
What movies would be in our DS Chain Reaction?

David Selby was in "Grave Secrets"
-
"Daughters of Darkness" starring John Karlen. It would have to be heavily edited to be on TV.[blshb] Very sexy.
-
"Edited" is hardly the word for it!! They'd have to actually cut that sucker up with an exacto knife to get it past the Morals and Decency Brigade!!
Besides, once it was edited, why, pray tell, would any of us bother to watch it? ::)

David Selby was in "Grave Secrets"
That's a good one Eleanor!
How about "Race with the Devil" starring
Lara Parker?
-
A Darkness At Blaisedon, with Louis Edmonds. Not one of my fave films, but it had a DS star in it.
-
David Selby was in Dr. Franken.
(Addison Powell was also in it!)
Oh...and Jonathan was in Seizure and also that other movie with Shelley Winters - I forget what it was called. It had a supernatural/evil theme.

Thayer David in "Journey to the Center of the Earth"
I recently saw this and though he did a good job in it. He was such a good actor and probably could have played well in anything.
I haven't seen this yet but I've always wanted to see Joan Bennett in the movie "Scarlet Street" I've heard that this was a good movie and that Joan was great in it.

What a great idea Latisha, much better than those
horrid movies William Shatner was showing on Halloween!(what is up with him?)

John Karlen was in a hotel movie with James Brolin
that i liked!forget the name!
-
I think that "hotel" movie was called "The 13th Floor," and James Brolin was a kind of ghost who liked to wield an axe every now and again.
Thayer David was in several films, including "Rocky." I don't think any of you would want to see that one during a DS Chain Reaction!
Did "Grave Secrets" also star Patty Duke? If so, that was on during the Halloween season. Not sure when, though. Typical "spooky" TV movie.
If I was gonna have a DS Chain Reaction, I'd definitely include:
(1) Secret Behind the Door--thriller starring Joan Bennett and Michael Redgrave
(2) Suspiria--shocking horror film, also starring Joan Bennett! Watch this one with the lights on, even if it's edited!

When I used to hang out in the Hollywood Hills in the early 80's, I saw him walking around Lake Hollywood with his wife. I found out something interesting about him on AMC, when they were showing "Halloween, Behind the Story" about the making of the "Halloween" movies. A mask of his face was used to make the mask that the character, Michael Myers wore.
-
Oh cheryl that is too funny!!! I taped halloween the other night have to go look at it now!

I thought it was funny too. I have all of the Halloween movies. I recorded that special behind-the-scenes thing too. That was pretty good.
-
Well thank you Craig S. for sharing the information about Michael Myers' mask. With the exception of Hallowe'en 3, these movies are my all-time favorite horror movies. Hallowe'en 1, I thought, was most frightening. "You can't kill the boogie-man" creeped me out.
Still cringing, Misty

Those look great. Anymore suggestions? Perhaps I'll suggest it in a letter to the SciFi chanel. Maybe...

It has been wished for as long as DS has been on Sci-fi, including its inital run that they would do a DS marathon, which has since become known as a chain reaction. However that has never happened and probably never will. While Sci fi seems to know DS is popular with its fans, they still don't see it being as marketable as Star Trek or Stargate SG1. Part of the problem is the fact that the series is a continuing drama and I guess they feel that it would be unfair to air a small grouping of shows and leave people hainging, who might not get the chance to watch it at it's regular time.
However, I can see them doing a Chain Reaction of the 1991 mini series. That would be interesting to revisit this off shoot of the original.
