I'd never laugh at that...it's a beautiful state! My uncle worked there for several years and we visited a few times back when. I remember having a blast playing in the hilly woods and roaming around the gorgeous countryside. And, of course, you have the great Selby connection as well!

I love New Jersey. My husband grew up there. We drive ten hours from Maine to visit the Boardwalk, eat Taylors Pork roll, Nunzio's Pizza, and Max's hot dogs. Max's used to be on the boardwalk but it burned down twice. Its now located in Long Branch. Criterion(sp) had the best salt water taffy but it closed. It was in a part of town friends called Little Beruit(Asbury Park) .

What part of Nevada did you live in? I'm in Clark County (Las Vegas), I moved here from California. I've only been in Arizona, at Hoover Dam. There's a certain point that crosses over from Nevada to Arizona.

I lived right in Sin City - Las Vegas. I received my master's from UNLV. My apartment building was right behind the Thomas and Mack Arena - I watched them build it. 'Course, that was back in the early '80's, when LV wasn't the big megalopolis it is now. You could actually get from one end of Las Vegas Boulevard to the other in five minutes, including traffic lights. Those were the days!

GAK! I must have read this four times before I realized it doesn't add UP! Well, it was either 9 years each or I was gone 16, without checking I'm not even sure!

Good for you, I just knew you were a Rebel! I hope my daughter goes there when she graduates high school in the future. I have lived here since 1996, and Las Vegas has grown rapidly, will become like L.A. and NYC traffic wise, getting there!

oh my goodness... i'm from los angeles too. however, one the few that was actually born here and hasn't had to live anywhere else. i think snow is nice to visit but i wouldn't want to live near it.

Northern California, about 75 miles (give or take) east of San Francisco, in the San Joaquin Valley, salad bowl of the world! - by way of Long Island, New York (Suffolk County). Asbury Park (little Beruit - I love it!) New Jersey, where I spent my Dark Shadows years. 5 more New York locations, and 6 more in New Jersey. Marathon, Florida. And Arizona (Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, & Apache Junction). Geez, I bet I've got the Rakosi's beat!
Well traveled but not worldly Dom (who may have been a gypsy and a tramp - but never a thief!)

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
By the way, Cassandra, given the times we're always posting, I've assumed you were a west coaster!!

WOW...you'll drive 10 hours just to go to the Boardwalk???? :o Now THAT'S dedication.
Funny - I don't think I've been to Asbury Park more than once or twice. When we go to the beach we head a little further south -- no boardwalk -- we trudge over the dunes. LOL
By the way -- has anyone noticed how many places Dom has lived? I have a feeling he might be wanted by the authorities.
;D

What city in the San Joaquin Valley? I'm originally from Madera, 20 miles north of Fresno, and lived in Fresno, too, before moving to the LA area.

Hi Bette!
I'm in Tracy, just a few hours up the road from Madera. I love Fresno! (Bet you never heard that much during your tenure in the area, eh?) lol. I almost moved to Fresno but that relationship didn't work out - the one that got away. <sigh> But I made out alright.
I love Tracy, it's the first place I've ever lived in my 44 years where my neighbors actually welcomed me to the neighborhood, and with home-grown veggies, pies, etc. to boot!
(Very happily settled) Dom

[hello][hello] Lawrenceville, Georgia, Gwinnett County!
Far, Far from Atlanta. (30 miles thank heavens)

PS Have also lived in Fort Worth, Texas when in 5th grade and my father was attending Southwestern Theological Seminary. I love it there!

True, everyone loves to diss Fresno. But I must admit to a certain nostalgia when I think of the place. I'm a true "valley girl." What I miss most is being only one hour from Yosemite, and being able to take all those day trips there. I've been thrugh Tracy, but not spent any time there unfortunately.
