[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Setup:
Catherine: I don't know what you're talking about! I was just gazing into the flames!
Julia: Don't try to pretend. I saw what was in the fire. You were violating our most sacred Collins tradition - even more sacred than the lottery - by burning...
-
Not merely your bra but those of everyone in the house, including Gabriel

Obviously before smoke alarms! [santa_wink] [santa_wink] [santa_wink]

([pointing-up] YES!! Can you even imagine if smoke alarms were required when DS was in production - especially on that day when all the sets were smoke-filled just because they had used smoke in one set??!! [santa_azn] [santa_rolleyes])

You know, I'd like to believe that the fire stunts on DS were done with the proper permits and safety precautions but knowing how DC operated, I have my doubts. And, for all her talk about being a Phoenix after all, it can't have been too pleasant for Diana Millay (or whoever) to be surrounded by flames.

(I have my doubts too!! [santa_shocked])

I would think that the scenes involving Laura going up in flames would have been performed by an experienced stunt person, rather than the actress but I guess that's probably not what happened here.
John Karlen's experience with the rickety glass at the greenhouse at Lyndhurst is another example.
-
([pointing-up] The incident involving JK is particularly egregious because everyone else wore hard hats, but of course JK couldn't... [snow_rolleyes])

I guess that if an actor said no to one of these stunts, they would be headed for the unemployment line. [4236] [4236] [4236]

([pointing-up] Gee, I can't imagine why you would think that!! ... Yeah, right!! [snow_rolleyes])

I wonder if the actors were expected to do their own stunt work if Alex Stevens wasn't available. Somehow, I think that his work with Frank Sinatra paid better. 😏😏😏
-
([pointing-up] I'm sure it did - and I bet they were.)

I don't think that he would tried that with Joan Bennett. Rank does have its privileges. But I would think that everyone else was fair game
