Title: Resetting forum clock for DST
Post by: Midnite on October 27, 2002, 07:57:04 PM
Since the forum is on GMT, there's no allowance for Daylight Saving's Time, so if you've changed your clocks in your area of the country you have 1 more to take care of!  Click Profile, then scroll down to Preferences and add an additional hour to the Time Offset.

If you've never set your forum clock to reflect the time in your area, cousins in the East need an offset of -5  and in the West it's -8.

Mine does show that it's set at -8, but the time showing is also 8 hours ahead of Las Vegas, something wrong there. I don't know how to fix it.

CS, I checked and the forum clock under your login is showing the correct time, but by that I mean the display on all the forum pages that follows the date.  If you're referring to the time that displays in your profile directly under the Time Offset, it says it's the "current forum time", which means it's showing you the time on the forum clock, and it's available there so that you can more conveniently calculate the offset.  In other words, you're looking at Greenwich Mean Time there, and nothing you do will change that display.

Yes, that's what I was looking at, it threw me off. Thanks Midnite!
