A smart move on Depp's part since there is such a thing as overkill. Though one presumes he wouldn't be able to do it, anyway, until after The Lone Ranger, which isn't until after DS.

Johnny Depp’s doing The Lone Ranger?  Is there, somewhere, a Lone Ranger Forums where members talk endlessly about when it will get filmed, whether it will ever get filmed, and whether Tonto will be a waitress or a governess?

Don't know if it's the only one, but it does exist.  This particular one is just not as speculative as our DS group is, though...  Or else they keep their speculations to sporadic postings.

BTW, I think Tonto is going to be a governess.   [ghost_wink]

Actually, since the project was announced, Johnny has been attached to play Tonto, not the Lone Ranger.  Of course, he could still be a governess, and knowing Johnny's past track record it's not impossible  [ghost_smiley]  Armie Hammer (David Selby's clients in The Social Network- the Winklevoss twins) is in talks to play the masked man, but it's not solid yet.

God.  Depp playing Tonto.  That's just ... embarrassing.

Probably not. Apparently Depp has some Native American blood in him. Though I forget which tribe...
