Title: Slightly Related - Marion Ross and Happy Days cast
Post by: Josette on April 20, 2011, 08:20:46 AM
With Marion Ross’ connection to Paul Michael (King Johnny Romano), and I believe I read of her attending at least one convention with him, I thought this might qualify as related.

It seems the Happy Days characters are being prominently used on gambling machines and all sorts of other merchandise.  Their contracts called for a percentage of such income going to them, but apparently it isn’t.  CBS claims to agree that they owe them, but in amounts like $8,000, whereas they think they are owed millions.  Anson Williams, Marion Ross, Don Most, Erin Moran and the Estate of Tom Bosley are suing.  The four of them were on CNN talking about it.  They are also saying how this could influence this sort of situation with other shows in the future.

I tried to find the article or video on CNN but can't find anything.  But, I did look up the transcript and found that:  http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1104/19/cnr.05.html and it's about halfway or a little more down.

I remember a few years back some of 'The Munsters' cast were suing somebody over the use of their images on some sort of slot machines without permission, or even asking.   [easter_huh]

Marion Ross was also with Jonathan Frid in Arsenic and Old Lace.

I loved Marion Ross in the 1970s telefilm Midnight Offerings, in which she played a White Witch.  Marion had some hysterical dialogue in that one about "Hekatite Witches."  My friends and I just love to scream over this kind of thing.
