Title: Keene Curtis (Voice of Judah Zachary) Dies
Post by: MsCriseyde on October 16, 2002, 05:30:50 AM: Broadway and television veteran Keene Curtis passed away on Oct. 13 following a battle with Alzheimer's disease.

He provided the voice of Judah Zachary on Dark Shadows, but was perhaps best known to television audiences as John Hill, owner of the upstairs restaurant on Cheers. He had many television guest appearances in addition to these roles and appeared on Broadway in numerous productions, including La Cage Aux Folles.

I never really associate Keene with DS, as he did such a little bit on it and having seen him in so many other things, but I've always enjoyed him.

So many people from TV have been dying recently . . . Whitney Blake (Hazel), Teresa Graves (Laugh-In, Get Christie Love), and then Dennis Patrick.

Post by: Brian on October 17, 2002, 04:53:16 AM: I saw Keene Curtis as Albin in the national tour of LA CAGE way back in 1984--Peter Marshall played Georges, and Ronald Dennis, a Dayton native, played 'the maid." After the show, my friends and I joined Ron for drinks, and Mr. Curtis came by to say "hi." He was very nice and friendly. Sad that he's passed.

I wondered what he looked like. I think I read in one of the Pomegranate books that he was actually Adam's body on the table before Robert Rodin played the role.

Did he have any other parts on DS?

I think that may have been Albert Finney. (sp?)

BTW, Keene Curtis played Judah Zachary as well as providing his voice. But as Vlad said, what a great voice!
