Title: Gargoyles
Post by: kuanyin on October 04, 2002, 07:24:06 AM
Well, my DS alumni DVD and VHS collection is coming along. Got Gargoyles today and watched with the kids. My younger son proclaimed it "A REALLY good movie!" It was fun to see a young Scott Glen (who is a favorite of mine anyway and who knew he was so cute then?) and Grayson Hall in the same movie. I liked Grayson's part, only wish she had more of it. It must have made her happy to be chasing a man for a change in a movie!

Night of the Iguana is by far the best movie so far. (I haven't seen Save the Tiger in years though, and I remember it being very good.) NOTI was just  unbelievable with such a strong story and that marvelous cast.

The transfer of Gargoyles is quite good. I was surprised that the print is wider than what's shown on TV - until I read the back of the box and it said that the DVD was mastered from the European theatrical version.

For those of you who might not have the DVD, here's a capture from the closing credits:

If that doesn't make you want to go out and buy the DVD, well, nothing will. ;)

MB that is superb . ..Mrs. Parks clutching her  ever- present "cocktail" . . .and this picture points out an observation i made sometime ago ..when did Grayson get such BIG eyes?  On DS. . they sometimes seem like narrow slits.  .

It is all in the make-up...Don't you agree?

Absolutely. Those dang false eyelashes were so thick it was hard to even see what color eyes a person had, let alone the size of the eye. Less is better in my opinion.

And Grayson was very funny in this movie. I loved that ever-present glass of booze in her hand in every scene.

I love this picture, darling MB. Thanks for sharing it again.

And yet another big thank you for the gorgeous Don Briscoe photos.  You really are simply the best!

Now if only someone could find and scan Don's legendary Colt Magazine layout, ca. 1967 ...
