Title: If You've Never Seen The DS Stuff That Was Published In 16/Spec...

...you might find interesting some of the things this blog has been posting recently:

I'd forgotten how much DS stuff was often jammed into each issue. Not that I actually ever complained.  [snow_laugh]  But why oh why did he have to pick the one issue that featured a news item about Geoffrey Scott?!  [snow_scream]

And they're much better than the ones on that site because yours aren't yellowed. [wink2]

I've very happy that as a kid I had the foresight to put everything in plastic because, like yours, mine still look exactly as they did the day I bought them...

Honestly, some of the ones I own are in better condition than others, so I grayscaled them in photoshop.

I love how 70's everything is. LOL I wonder if they had a mandate to add Groovy at least once in an interview. Selby and his "love vibrations" had me cracking up when The Dr. sent it to me. I know it was the times....but it's still makes me giggle!

When I was on a major Don Briscoe kick years back, I sought out all the 16 Magazine issues that featured him. Some late '68 stuff (when he popped in as Tom Jennings) and then all of '69 through early '70. Dark Shadows was always featured during this period - I wonder if there were any "Bring Back Dark Shadows" letter campaigns started by the 16 magazine readers and Gloria Stavers after April of '71?!

Not really. They did mention in their cancellation article that fans were writing ABC and protesting outside ABC's main offices on 6th Avenue in NYC. But the tone of the article was mostly that the end of DS was a forgone conclusion.

On the upside, though, a great deal of the article was devoted to news regarding the second DS film.
