Title: Going to Town in a Nightie in 1790--
Post by: Julia99 on September 28, 2002, 07:20:00 PM
Okay it was 1796 but i wanted it to kinda rhyme. .. what's with the ever proper Natalie DuPres traipsing around Collinsport (to get Lt.F) and the graveyard in her nightgown?  Couldn't the wardrobe mistress find the black dress. . it was Natalie's best. . .i do think Joshua would've been scandalized!

********SPOILER***********
p.s. stay tuned for the return of the nightie when B goes back to 1795/96  again to save Josette and in PT when apparently PT Aunt Julia has nothing else to wear for weeks!

I remember when my sister and I were little, we would run outside with our nighties on after our bath and my mom would freak.
A few years back ( almost 20) my sister and I were in Detroit for a concert and we were staying at a really nice hotel. I had gone to bed and in the middle of the night my sister and friend wanted me to come down to the lobby to sit around with them. I went down in my pj's barefoot.

Not to mention her trip to the jail to get Lt.Forbes released!  I wonder what the Constable and his men thought?  [wow]

At my daughter's High School, they have Spirit Week before the Homecoming Weekend.  Every day of the school week requires a different form of "dressing up".....school colours one day, Kids-dress-up-Teachers-dress-down another day.....but the outright favourite is the day everyone wears pajamas (mostly plaid flannel pj bottoms and T-shirts)  to school. :)

In the 1980's, I used to go to Palm Springs, CA a lot. One summer I was there every weekend, at the same hotel. My ex-husband I and had been going there for a while, and we knew all the people that stayed there often. It was always like one big party. One late evening, my ex and I were out in the pool, and at midnight, these 5 women that were there for the first time, and really drunk, all came outside in their nightgowns and jumped in the pool! It was hysterical!

Had lots of good times out there, I always thought I would move there, but I moved to Las Vegas instead. I like it here better. Craig Slocum did a play in Palm Springs at one time, wish I had been there for that!

We do that at our school every once and awhile. We have hat day, spirit day, Proud to be an American day, backwards day, twin day, and, of course, the favorite Pajama day. That's always the most fun! :)
