[pointing-up]  [a1f5]  I LOVE it!!  [thumbleft]  But you know what - I don't think Jeff does touch Maggie's hair in the film. But then as the film stands I think there's only that one scene in the Old House when she runs to him after being locked in the bedroom that he touches her at all. Say what you will about his directing of the film, but DC really reigned in RD's penchant for touching his costars everywhere possible that he thought he could get away with!!

To an extent. According to the Maggie's Diary section in The Movie Book, during the scene with Humbert Allen Astredo, Mr. Davis chose to wait until the take "to scrunch my face up and rest his arm on my nose."  Maybe she's remembering accurately, maybe she isn't but there's obviously no love lost there.

([pointing-up] I just checked and it's not like that in the take that was used in the film, but who knows if he did those things in some other take...)
