Title: Episode #1084
Post by: CTP/FITBs on October 17, 2010, 09:29:15 PM
[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Set-up:
DC: "This story about Gerard and Daphne's a little dry!  It could use __________!"
HS: "For heaven's sake David, just write what happened!!"

A zombie kick line

... a ghost wet-t-shirt (with ectoplasm) contest!

...

(I want a kickline with zombies, Brothers, and the duck.

So weird, going back to these... I had no memory whatsoever of having done the set-up, and wondered what I'd had in mind... but a car chase was what occurred to me.   Turns out that was what I had in mind 2 years ago.   I've had even older ones, and in almost all cases, the first joke that occurs to me is exactly the same as it was 3 or 4 or 5 years ago.  I don't know why that seems so weird, but it does.)

First impressions usually are the best and, in this case, certainly the moat clever. I have no idea where Dr. Joyce may be these days but I'll be on the lookout for the tap dancing duck.  [ghost_smiley] [ghost_wink]

If David Lynch had directed DS, there would have been at least one tap dancing duck. Possibly more.

([pointing-up]  And can you even imagine if a pet log was ever put in the wood pile and accidentally almost put on the fire?! The shear trauma of it all!!  [shiver])

Four years later, same thing once again.

[pointing-up]  Though it makes sense to me. And like I've said, half the fun of these boards is seeing the types of things we posted years ago and whether or not they still hold up. Honestly, I think a lot of the stuff has only gotten better with time!!  [santa_wink]  [8_2_74]

I would definitely agree with you. There are some pop culture references that have become dated (Collinsport Idol, for one) but the majority seems to hold up quite well. And I know I've been surprised more than once by something that I posted years before.
