Title: Episode #1080
Post by: CTP/FITBs on October 12, 2010, 11:07:35 PM
[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Wow - Hallie and all the groovy kids were really on the cutting edge as school backpacks didn't even come out until 1970. Good for them!  [thumb]

"their hair in pink bows"

Well, that goes without saying!  [lghy]

(And Magnus, sadly, before backpacks, if kids wanted to carry all their school stuff in one place, they had to use carrying cases (often referred to as messenger bags) that were mostly made of fake leather or sturdy cardboard. They came with hand grips or one shoulder strap - and either way they were a pain in the you know where as they swayed and slapped against the hip.)

(We called 'em book satchels.  I only remember the green vinyl one I had in middle school, and I'd snuck loose Spree down in the bottom of it.)

[laughing4]  Definitely not something I saw coming. That's a completely different take on the set up - and I love when that happens!!  [cheers]
