[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Setup:
Barnabas: No, Eliot, I don't accept your conclusion that Oliver Bennett was drunk when wrote this book, even though...
-
...even though he writes that good furniture should always be glued together with a mixture of Scottish whiskey and flour.
-
Hmm...I could have sworn that I wrote "Bennett Oliver" rather than "Oliver Bennett", in order to link the setup to the wonderful scene in the Old House but leave possibilities a little more open. Did I mess up or was it changed?
And by the way, do you really think Oliver Bennett would waste good whiskey, or bad whiskey, or any sort of whiskey at all, on anything other than his own gullet?
-
As to the the first question: [idontknow] But making glue out of whiskey was all part of his Master Plan. It was a means of stashing whiskey all over the place - and if ever there was a time when he was without any, he could simply break apart a piece of furniture that he'd made and lick the glue - even in dry households. [wink2]
-
That's the best way to read it.

[pointing-up] Perfect!! [laughing6] [thumbleft]
