If the show had continued a bit longer, he might very well have. I'm sure that Ohrbach's was a mecca for leisure suits.

([pointing-up]  Well, we know one thing: a man as formal as Barnabas would never be caught dead (no pun intended) in a leisure suit. A smoking jacket or a dressing gown while still wearing a tie with either is as casual as it gets with him!!  [nodassent]  On the other hand, Quentin would probably try the look at least once.  [wink2])

I don't think we ever see Barnabas in something as casual as a sweater. Except for David, we don't see any of the Collins men in anything less formal than the aforementioned dressing gown or smoking jacket. I think we see Roger in pajamas and robe during the haunting of Collinwood but as I recall the pajamas seemed very well pressed.
