Title: Dark Shadows T-Shirts
Post by: Misty on September 06, 2002, 04:52:47 AM
I've seen some very funny t-shirts lately and it suddenly occurred to me how utterly hilarious it would be to have the DS characters appear in their very own tees. They might go something like this:

BARNABAS        "Yes, it IS always about me."

Jeff Clark          BORN TO ANNOY

ROGER               "Save time. See it my way."

JULIA                "CHAOS: It's not just a theory, it's my
                             life."

STOKES             "Prepare to bow before my invincible
                            irony and sarcasm,"

HARRY                 NEEDS SUPERVISION

CAROLYN            "It's a girl's world and guys just live
                            in it."

VICKI                  "By the time I figured it out, I was too
                            old to remember."

EVE                      "I hear voices and they don't like
                              you."

Any other suggestions??     Misty

Those were terribly funny. . ..but i think Roger would also sport a tee that said. . ."whiskey, cognac or sherry?  Who cares, serve it up now!"

ROTFLMAO. I'd love to see some of the actors sporting t-shirts bearing a few of these wonderful catch phrases.  I think John Karlen & Chris Pennock would oblige us in this endeavor.  A couple years back Karlen was walking around a festival wearing a t-shirt that was given to him by a fan. Anyone remember what it read? :-)

Well, you've got a whole year to come up with some good ideas.  Tell ya what -- come up with a great Quentin T-shirt, and if you can manage to get Selby to wear it, I'll buy one.   LOL

I rummaged through my photo albums to see if I had a picture of John in the t-shirt. I had thought it was only a couple years ago, but discovered it was way back in 1997. :-) The white t-shirt had red block letters that said; John Karlen as Willie Loomis

I like that t-shirt. I have one, so does my daughter, looks cute on a 6 year old. I have lots of Dark Shadows t-shirts. I collect them. I've won some really neat t-shirts and sweatshirts from Ebay auctions too.

Oh my God!! The tears are running down my cheeks! You all really out-did me in the T-shirt department. I think Bob the Bartender's finally did me in. Most of these are priceless. By the way, I don't own a DS tee. Are they available anywhere??

                                         Still mopping up,   Misty

VAM,

As the late, great Perry Como once crooned, "It's just impossible!"

Bob the Bartender, who misses Mr. Como's relaxed, laid back style, sort of like the "Anti-Iggy Pop."

Iggy Pop had some great songs in 1981, my highschool daze. Lust For Life - "Here comes Johnny, yeah man, with liquor and drugs"....  That song sure hit home. My boyfriend's name was Johnny, and he always had liquor and drugs at the time. I think that song was written for him. Thanks for reminding me that I'm from that rotten early 80's teen generation, Bob!

Front of shirt:   Get A Life...
...A Life That Lasts FOREVER!

Dear Craig Slocum,

I once saw the late Joey of Joey and the Ramones open up for Iggy Pop at the old Palladium in New York many years ago.  (It was the one and only punk rock concert that my friends convinced me to see with them.)

Old Iggy was feeling "no pain" that night.  Honestly, I never thought that he would be still with us twenty years later.  However, I'm glad that Iggy has straightened himself out and is doing well.

You know, Iggy does have a very good singing voice.  His vocal style has been compared to that of the late, great Jim Morrison.  And, of course, Iggy collaborated with David Bowie on some great rock songs like "China Girl" and. I believe, the theme song of the film remake of "Cat People."

Bob the Bartender, president of the Lena Zavaroni Fan Club.

I never saw Iggy Pop in concert, but I heard his songs a lot on the radio, in the early 80's. I have his Buried Treasure cd's, a collection of rare & unreleased songs, lost & forgotten, saved from oblivion. I consider it a piece of music history. Iggy has always collaborated with inspired musicians. He also experimented with a movie career, got married, etc. Yes, he organized and changed his life. Good for him!
