....bears quite a resemblance to an Insurance Company I once worked for!! Who knew the devil sat at a cheap knock off of an antique desk, keeping tabs on the inmates comings and goings, and giving the visitors a hard time, like the busybody Inquisitor that worked at the front desk of my old place?
Dante Alighieri would weep with disappointment to find Hell was such a chintzy, bourgeois, badly accessorized place. Somebody call the folks over at "Trading Places"....QUICK!! [tngb]

On top of everything else, the magazines in Hell's Waiting Room are really old!
All they have are back issues of Highlights For Possessed Children, Rolling Skull, Evil Aficionado and--scariest of all--Rosie.

The waiting room in every dentists' office also seems to have the same ambiance.

They should of turned on The " AC" in there

Some friends or enemies?

When I first saw this episode back in 1968, I felt fear--it looked exactly the way I always pictured hell.
Now it looks cheesy, of course, but I was watching some eps from STAR TREK's first season, and those FX looked equally terrible. Can't compare 35+ years ago with today. But great special effects don't make up for poor storytelling, and DS told some of the most fascinating stories ever! It lingers in the mind, all these years later.

I can't even begin to imagine how scary that scene in "Hell" would have seemed had I seen it back in 1968!

You read my mind Raineypark! When I watched that one I kept thinking, hmmm Satan shops at Pier One...small universe!

Actually, I kinda thought that scene was scary. The smoke and fire in the background looked very realistic, especially in Angelique's scene. And the screaming-that was the worst.

Same goes for Nicholas' scene with Maggie, doing the Black Mass. I, personally, thought that was terrifying.

And who would have guessed that hell gets its candelabra from the same place that Barnabas did? Pier 1 maybe? Should I perhaps boycott the store from now on?
You would also expect satan to afford a better wardrobe than that musty looking robe which looks like a castoff from the Star Trek episode "Return of the Archons". Come to think of it, the robe looked better there!
I did like the ironwork gate to hades.
Don't know about you, but I've always pictured hell as a more disordered, chaotic place, but I guess this is the waiting room, after all.
Do you think Nicholas was allowed the opportunity to change from his Brooks Bros. outfit to an asbestos suit? [evily]

The first time I saw this set, I thought it was pretty pathetic. Now I think it's really, really pathetic. I mean, c'mon, Satan has a desk? What's up with that?

Maybe he's a civil servant too.

The funny thing is that the two of them were screaming & carrying on as if it was their first trip there. You would think by now that they'd both be "old pro's" when it comes to that place. [hdscrt]
