Title: Wishes for the people of the 70s
Post by: Latisha on August 29, 2002, 07:40:06 PM
A wish for the people of the 70s...

For Mr. Blair & Eve, a trip to the dentist for some teeth bleaching.

For Barnabus, Julia & Willie, if there were ever 3 people who needed cell phones more...!!!  ring...Julia?  It's me Barnabus, I'm trapped in a wall again.  Can you come get me?  Can you hear me?

How about Barnabas just bringing the Old House into the twentieth century.  Okay, when he was vamped, I can see him wanting to keep things the way he remembered them.  Wax him nostalgic.  But after he was cured and knew he was going to live a normal life with Ford Mustangs instead of horse-and-carriages, and the evenings could be spent watching Gunsmoke rather than sitting in candlelight playing whist for entertainment, one would think that he would prefer to have the convenience of hitting a switch instead of firing up candles, or let Willie just set the knobs on the stove rather than chucking wood into some brick-and-iron oven (let alone having to beat their clothes on a rock instead of just tossing them into the washer).  I mean, c'mon Barnabas.  For cryin' out loud, you even learned how to drive a car!  Get with the times!

Not to mention the lack of bathrooms in the place.  Kinda wondered about Adam in that room all that time.  Doesn't the guy ever take a shower?

Today's 10:30am episode (#627) when Vicki came into Collinwood looking for Roger . . . I believe she was talking about the phone in the jail house . . . but at first it sounded like she was talking about Roger's cellphone! Was this a secret way of telling us that Roger was way ahead of the family, and most of the world? The world may never know . . .

;)

You know, VWR, I thought I heard that, too, but decided I was hearing things! Unfortunately, I watched the episode and didn't tape it so I can't rewind and listen again. Anyone else hear the same thing?

I went back and watched the scene again and listened very closely. She said 'he must've turned his telephone off!'. But it does sound like cellphone unless you listen very closely.

It may be his way of discouraging people from staying there too long, like more than a year.  ;D

Carol, I thought the same thing when I heard this but went back over the tape and then heard her saying telephone. The funny thing was when she said that Roger had "turned his phone off" it  immediately made me think of cell phones.

Who knows, maybe she can really wisk back and forth to the future. ;)

Yes, I heard the same thing too. I went back and watched it four more times. Everyone in my family said it sounded like cell phone too. They just kept saying, "That's spooky..."

I believe Willie had to give Adam sponge baths.  It wasn't just being forced to bring food to the big guy that pissed off Willie, it was JEALOUSY!  Heh heh heh.

That imagery is enough to make me volunteer to be the life force in the next experiment! [sick]
