Title: Obituary: Ed Limato, Hollywood talent agent
Post by: Midnite on July 06, 2010, 05:22:30 AM
Obit in Sunday's LA Times:

Ed Limato dies at 73; longtime Hollywood agent (http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-ed-limato-20100704,0,7306703.story)

His first client was David Selby, and the actor remained with him until his death.  From hollywoodnews.com (http://www.hollywoodnews.com/2010/07/04/ed-limato-hollywood-agent-gave-legendary-oscar-parties/) (the author's memories of a 2001 party at Limato's home):  "David Selby, the terrific actor, telling me that Ed Limato had been his one and only agent through his whole career. Despite Limato adding Mel Gibson (then sane), Denzel Washington, Michelle Pfeiffer and other movie stars over the years, he’d remained loyal to Selby. And vice versa."

A friend reminded me that Limato was one of the special people listed in the dedication for In and Out of the Shadows.

Thanks Midnite. I knew Limato was his long-time agent but I didn't know he was his very first client. Neat. I'm sure he will be missed. From what I've read he was an interesting guy and a one of kind in Hollywood.
