[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Setup:
Barnabas: The difference between strangling a man and strangling a woman is...

...different anatomical parts get in the way. It seems obvious - but it's so disconcerting.
-
Was that why Barnabas liked strangling Julia so much? Because her anatomical parts tended not to get in the way?
-
Quite possibly. [naughty]

The fight over who gets the key light.

[pointing-up] Love it!! [laughing6] [thumb]

The fight over who gets the key light.
(You got me to Google for a definition... so I learned something today, thanks.)
-
Getting the key light is very important. One of the issues that many of the actresses had with Roger Davis was his hogging the light.
-
([pointing-up] Well, RD pretty much tried to hog everything but the kitchen sink! Though, if one had been in any of his scenes, I'm sure he would have tried to hog that too!! [easter_rolleyes] [easter_cheesy])
-
Undoubtedly. Though DC kept bringing him back time and time again. I don't recall Roger having as big a following as Frid and Selby or even Briscoe and Pennock, so I wonder just what that was all about. [easter_huh] [snow_huh] [easter_huh]
-
([pointing-up] That's has always been a very good question! Unlike all the actors you mention, I can remember RD having only one soap magazine article about him - and it's not like he was in the teen magazines all that much, either. I think Tom Happer, who only appeared in like 4 eps as 1840's Jeremy Grimes got more attention from both types of magazines!!)

At first glance I thought Rog was talking about one of those flashlights on a keychain, which I had for many years in my youth as a latch-key kid!!
But the television studio work I did in college at the local PBS station paid off and finally it dawned on me! Thanks for the refresher course Rog...
And just one more reason to be annoyed with RD!! [snow_grin]

Here's a Roger Davis story that appeared in the great book A Hard Act to Follow as well as Barnabas & Company:
A crew member noted that Roger liked to interfere with the lighting and blocking, usually to upstage whatever actress he was working with. He made the mistake of trying this with Grayson Hall during one of their scenes. Grayson ground her heal into Roger's toes as he said his lines. The crew member noted that tears of pain welled up in Roger's eyes. When the director called cut, Grayson learned in and said through gritted teeth: "Now you'll never try that again, will you?"
-
(OMG, I LOVE IT!! But we all know that Grayson wouldn't ever take any shit from anyone, so good for her!! But too bad RD didn't learn it as a lesson not to continue to do it to the other actresses on the show. [easter_rolleyes]
Thanks for sharing, Uncle Roger!! [snow_smiley])

He may have only been able to get away with that with the younger actresses, as I believe that Diana Millay put him in his place too. But I do cherish Joan Bennett's assessment of him that appeared in Brian Kellow's book on the Bennett family: "He thinks he's Henry Fonda. But he has no talent."

Rog, I cannot believe that, knowing about that G Hall/R Davis scene, you have not at some point figured out what scene it is, in which episode.... enlightenment please?
