Title: BARELY BLOOD
Post by: VAM on August 18, 2002, 03:52:40 AM
Only on DS can a Vampire dressed in white go out for an evening snack and stay in pristine condition. Then there is a body with a stab wound taken to the woods with no trail or drops of evidence. Were there any times on DS when blood left its mark?

In terms of blood making a mark, after she cursed Barnabas, Angelique tried to no avail to get her blood out of the carpeting. When Naomi saw it, she told her that it was wine.

After Barnabas chomped down on his first victim, he came back to Ben covered in blood.

When poor little Sarah saw her big brother with blood on his shirt & mouth (after a midnight snack)  in the masoleum.     The poor child....

I think Vicki got pretty bloody after she took a bullet during her jailbreak in 1795.

I would say everyone in Collinwood is rather tidy where blood is concerned...

Mrs. Johnson would simply throw up her hands and quit if there were blood anywhere.  :o

Besides everyone knows what blood looks like,
why cry over spilled blood?  ::)

When Nickolas Blair goes and decided to take the stake out of Tom Jennings to use him for his own evil purposes. I remember after the stake had been removed, it was all bloody, but it looked more like red paint to me.

I suspect that the censors kept close track of the blood spilled in these episodes.  I can see it now, over and over, in shows featuring blood: "Caution on showing of blood--these episodes are being watched by many children and we don't want to cause nightmares."

SPOILER. . .

The last time Angelique bites Barnabas (he was supposed to die and be resurrected as her vampire companion forever), her lips have blood on them, the first time I remember seeing a vampire thusly.  Barnabas, after his first blood-sucking episode, had blood running down the corners of his mouth and on his shirt front (which is how poor Sarah saw him in the tomb), but actually seeing Barnabas' blood staining Ang's lips was pretty erotic stuff, IMHO, and the first time I recall seeing blood on anyone's lips.

Love, Robin

Perhaps the same toenail polish Barnabas used in Scout's story... ;)
