During the 1795 storyline I started a post dealing with Naomi Collins suicide. Joe Haskell's was an unsuccessful attempt. However, do they have anything in common? What was the behavior leading towards such an act, etc. Was love a factor? It presents an interesting topic for discussion...

I suppose both Namoi and Joe felt their worlds were so broken that living had lost its meaning entirely... with out a love for life, they each chose the only recourse they felt they had left... although for Joe his was merely an attempt.
The taking of one's own life is in itself the final battle,
weather this struggle is successful or not the soul is forever changed.

I would suspect in reality if it was a failed attempt the individual still harbors negatve feelings of themself...and the possibility of a reoccurence is there.

I think Joe's was more the influence of being under
Angelique's spell which makes him think of nothing else but her!
