Title: Episode #0992
Post by: CTP/FITBs on May 05, 2010, 11:42:54 PM
[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Fill in the blank: "As Quentin returned to Collinwood after a long day of work, he hoped against hope that the newly returned Hoffman hadn't organized a(n) ________ for Alexis because the memories it would bring up would surely be ones he couldn't handle!!"

A screening of The Ghost in the Invisible Bikini

Believe it or not, about a week before Halloween there was a showing of that on one of my local stations. I couldn't resist catching it to see if I thought it was as funny as I did when I first saw it as a kid. Well, parts of it were really stupid (but then that's par for the course when it comes to all those beach movies), but it was fun enough to not have been a complete waste of time. And for pure nostalgia it was fun to see the cast, most of whom I haven't seen in anything in years.

It's one of my most guilty pleasures, of which there are many. The ABC station in NYC used to show at least once a year. I'd watch it and would come down with flu within a few days. Three years in a row!
The cast is certainly unique. Boris Karloff, Basil Rathbone, Patsy Kelly, Quinn O'Hara, Nancy Sinatra (my reason for watching it in the first place), Tommy Kirk and Deborah Walley, to name a few.
And perhaps the only film appearance of the long forgotten Miss Piccolo Pupa. Is she a musical instrument or is she an insect?

([pointing-up]  How very odd that you would catch the flu within days of watching it!  Maybe the station was testing out broadcasting in Fluevision for the government to use against other countries!!  [wink2]  [nerv])

Perhaps it was an early attempt at Videodrome. [easter_cool]

Not on my account, I hope. I found it tremendously funny and accurate!
