The shooting of hoDS impacted the taping schedule of the daytime show significantly, with many eps being taped out of sequence. And it began to impact taping weeks before shooting began on March 23, 1970. Here's how the daytime show was taped, broken down by weeks (and when the actors appearing in hoDS exited before shooting, appeared during shooting, and returned after shooting their parts):

This is fascinating. I never knew there was a week-and-a-bit period where the show went dark completely.
I had also not know until some years ago that Lela Swift had to help out in T'town as DC's unofficial AD.
All this adds fuel to my argument that one of the most pressing reasons to pull the plug on the series for good was the imminent beginning of the NoDS shoot. But I'm sure that no documents exist to ever prove such a notion...

I concur G. This is a lot of fun to read! :) THANKS! I too had no idea that the show went dark for so long or that stuff was taped out of order! I bet the poor actors were confused doing both and out of order!
