Title: A toy Collinwood?
Post by: borgosi on May 04, 2010, 11:58:30 PM
I don't know about the rest of you but I'd love to have a "Collinwood". Of course the first one should be based on Seaview. If we can get that done we could then start work on getting an "Old House" and maybe then a "Lyndhurst" and so on. If you're with me on this send an e-mail to Spectre Toys at info@spectretoy.com and tell them you want a Collinwood.

What did you have in mind, a playset or a model? I hated the Mego Enterprise playset. The bridge and transporter room looked nothing like the sets on the show. If they did a mockup of the foyer and drawing room, it would be fairly expensive. I'd settle for a realistic model of the exterior.

When I was a wee-widdo-kiddie and watched DS vociferously, I'd build my own Collinwood (and Old House, et. al.) out of Legos.  Sometimes I'd build the exteriors, sometimes the interiors, and used small Lincoln logs with marker-painted faces as the characters.

There could be more than one but if it were left up to me it would have to cost a fair amount. It would stand about 6 feet tall. The outside would be Seaview. You would be able to open it, either by lifting off the different floors or maybe it could be hinged at one end, to see the sets from the show. It would take some work but it could be done and if it looked good I'd be glad to shell out the money for it.

Just like I'd be glad to pay the money for a real music box.

Build a Collinwood out of Legos?  That could be fun.

Great idea Greg. It certainly would be cool to have a scaled down version of the house we all love.  [ghost_grin]

Don't forget the cemetery and the Blue Whale. Wait I can't forget that we need \
the works for the experiment.
