A video (pre-DS) was uploaded today at Youtube to mark this special birthday to a classy lady and great actress! She will never be forgotten!

My grandmother would have been 107 yesterday.
-
I thought her actual birth year was 1908? In 1973 Grayson talked of having attended her 65th birthday party.

I've always seen the year of her birth listed as 1910. But who knows? We all know how some actresses fib a bit...
-
Yeah our lady Grayson was very into fiddling with her age which I think is hilarious. More recently people can seem to figure out exactly what year Rose McGowan was born. She has told different reporter's different things. I like an air of mystery! Who knows about Joan??
-
According to her biography by Brian Kellow, Joan was born on February 27, 1910.

I don't wanna get off topic Midnite but do you recommend that book. I trust your judgement! :)

Happy B-day to a great actress You are the Best !

Taeylor,
Ah, thank you. If you're a Joan Bennett fan, definitely. Of course it's about the family: Richard and his daughters Joan, Constance and Barbara, and the author was extremely thorough. And while it's not quite the page turner that RJ's book on Grayson is, there's lots on Joan's career (my favorite part). However, don't expect a lot from the chapter on DS-- in terms of volume or surprises.

I will enjoy it then because I am fascinated with Old Hollywood and I love Constance as well! :) Just watched Topper the other day! :) I thought it was a hoot she played a ghost. Sadly she didn't get to see JB do DS. I don't mind there not being much on DS. When you have been in fandom for almost twenty years there are not many stories, facts, etc. left to learn.

I finished the Brian Kellow book while on jury duty a couple of years ago. It made the time pass very pleasantly. Remembering what I read, I can hardly believe that it was only a hundred years ago that Joan Bennett was born. It seems like such a different world!
