American International was trying to make a franchise out of the Lovecraft stories and it's a disaster on every level. Sandra Dee, the original Gidget, is cast as the Carolyn part. Need I continue?

(And I agree about the 1970 movie version of The Dunwich Horror. Though it is fascinating that it came out at the same time that DS was doing the Leviathans.)
