Dear VAM,
Gee, the 1840 playroom would be a heck of a lot of fun. Everybody could play monopoly, chutes and ladders, trivial pursuit, etc. But then again, in Angelique Stokes-Collins' so-called parallel time room, everybody could play "games" of a decidedly different nature.
So, it's a tough call. The very young kid in me would like to play in the 1840 playroom, but the 17-year-old in me would opt for the more sophisticated parlor games of the parallel time room.
Of course, as the years fly by, I'd probably be just as happy to have my warm glass of milk, grab my copy of the latest mystery by Mary Higgins Clark and jump into my Craft-Matic Bed (alone, of course) just like Ezra Braithwaite does in his apartment over the Braithwaire Jewelry Shop.
Sincerely,
Bob the Bartender, future AARP member.

Hmmmm "palor games"....That should be my next post topic! ;)

I'd have to go with the Leviathan room because
Possible Spoilers...
I want to see what the "Leviathan Lung Brat" really looks like! I must credit Robin V. for the above descriptive phrase (I chuckle every time I see it).

I would go to the playroom and bring my daughter with me. We could be there for a very long time!
-
I would like to try out the Parallel time room just to try out a change of scenery. It would interesting to know how the other half lives. ;)
-
I split my time between the labongatory and the Evans' Place. [were they on the list???? ;)]
-
I'd LOVE to explore the lottery room and the parallel time room.
-
I'd like the parallel time room so i can see what the parallel times are like just to compare and contrast with real time.I'm too grown up for the playroom!Lottery room is so-so.I'll pass on the leviathan room.

What could possibly be of interest at the Evans' Place? ;D

Is that where Bob's "palor games" are being conducted? ;)

could it have to do with The Bunny Years Ringo? ;D

:) Tough choices....
I'd love to check out the Playroom but the opportunity to check out the lottery room would be more of an adventure. ?!?

I would not chose to explore the leviathan room, all that breathing would no doubt require lots of mouthwash for that room!
I have never been quite lucky with lotteries so not that room either...
Parallel time sound interesting although I do not know any parlor games.
My choice would be the 1840 Playroom, I would feel very much at home there. I wonder if my doll is in that room. ::)

I know that some posters participate in RPG elsewhere, so I post reminders now and then to please not role play here.

I've heard of this but am not familiar with it.
What exactly is RPG? What would constitute someone doing it?
Thanks

I've heard of this but am not familiar with it.
What exactly is RPG?
A really basic definition would be playing pretend according to rules. Most DS rpgs are run by facilitators. They're a lot of fun, but I haven't participated in any in ages so I hope I explained it well enough.

A lot of us have usernames, avatars, signatures and personal messages taken from DS, and we encourage that. But if in your messages you're pretending to be that character, as with Sarah looking for her relatives or her doll, you're role playing. RP is fictional storytelling, same as fan fiction, except the author puts him/herself into their writing, and like FF there are websites dedicated to it.
From the User Agreement/Guidelines:
2. The purpose of these forums is to discuss DARK SHADOWS, its characters, actors and storylines. Role playing (putting oneself or another poster into the DS story) is discouraged, and repeated efforts to role play may result in removal of these posts from the board. This does not, however, refer to DS-related usernames or signatures. These forums also do not accept fan fiction and such works are subject to removal.

could it have to do with The Bunny Years Ringo? ;D

I just like the view ~ I am a nature lover! ;)

Okay - I got it. Thanks. (Had to read your explanation and guideline and couple of times. I'm a bit thick.) LOL
Whatever it was, I wanted to make sure I'm not DOING it.

Most of those places would be too scary for me (ill-willed spirits are not my cup of tea), but I must say I would be way too curious about the PT room to resist. I'd be interested in seeing what the alternative Joe is up to. I just hope he wouldn't be "bored now". (sorry, btvs reference) :o

More likely it's because I talk funny. :)

Oh please don't be nervous. I usually don't even say anything unless the role playing is ongoing... and the bunny keeps her claws trimmed, I promise. ;)

Joe, no need to apologize. We don't discourage BtVS references. In fact, many of us are fans of the show. And the ones who aren't, well, it's a shame that they've been living such empty lives for the past six years. [wink2]
(OK, I'm kidding with that last remark. But you really don't know what you've been missing. BtVS is quite simply one of the most intricately layered and richly complex series to come along in years, brought to life by an astounding cast that seems to become more talented with each passing season. Like a certain other show we know, love and obsess over, it's quite possible that BtVS will be as popular 30 years after it airs its last episode as it is today.)

I think I'd like to explore the 1841 Lottery room. I'd love to learn a lot more about Brutus' background than we were given during that storyline.

That would have been something to see MB. I wish they did have a storyline regarding Brutus Collins, instead of those one minute flashbacks they showed us from time to time. Would have made an interesting storyline. ;)
-
I would like to check out the PT Room and see where it would take me. It would be convenient to take a trip and never leave the house, so to speak ;).

Been there, done that... but not for 20 years or so... 8)
And I AM a nature lover..... I would stand outside the Evan's place, in the natural environment [looking thru the window] ;)
-
I'd have to choose Hannah Stokes fortune telling shop. I'd love to have been there when she taught a young Angelique the black arts in PT! I'd also liked to hang around in Flora Collin's parlor when visitors drop by for brandy, seances, etc.

I'd definitely like to play around in the parallel time room, and be transported to alternate realities like in Sliders (did anyone else watch that show?)
No interest in the play room - what happens when you're in there and it changes back into a linen closet? They never did explain how that worked.
The lottery room, so far as I can tell, is merely another dusty old room with a secret passageway, so that one doesn't hold much interest for me either.

But what lies beyond the passageway could prove endlessly fascinating. ;)
-
I'd go to the PT room, to see if any of the parallel worlds are less boring than this one, and quite probably the 1841 Lottery room, just to see what the fuss is all about.

Perhaps engage in "palor games" with Bob the Bartender! ;)
